KLM* is about discovering how math shows up in our lives

K

and recognizing how it’s the fuel for making the best choices.

Some people love music so much – like, underground music – that they start a blog where they can share their perspective & experience about music. Their love of music is a part of their identity and they advocate for that music to those who can relate to it; there’s gotta be others like them out there, right?

Some people love where they live so much – like, the state of Oregon – that they start a blog where they can share their perspective & experience about where they live. Their love of where they live is a part of their identity and they can advocate for that place to others who’d relate to it; there’s gotta be others like them out there, right?

And some people – like, me – love something so much – like, math – so I started a blog where I can share my perspective & experience on how math inspires me.

I’m not an accredited mathematician. I’m a nerdy math gal who loves to read & write, and when I write about math it’s in the same style & tone as when I describe a perfect Eggs Benedict or when I’m talking about that NASCAR race last Sunday.

Kate Loves Math* is a place where I can advocate noticing how math shows up IRL to those who might relate to that; there’s gotta be others like me out there, right? My love of math is a part of my identity, it inspires my work, my sanity, and it’s how I find reasoning in just about everything I encounter.

Math isn’t everything, but it inspires me to be.
